Howard Brown Health exists to eliminate the disparities in healthcare experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through research, education and the provision of services that promote health and wellness. The Registered Nurses at Howard Brown Health organized with INA in 2019 in order to ensure they had the most power possible to advocate for themselves and their patients. Shortly after the Registered Nurses won their first contract, every other job title at the Clinics and Brown Elephant Stores voted to join INA as well. INA now represents every eligible employee at Howard Brown Health, from Medical Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to Grant Managers and Sales Associates.

Unionized in 1991, nurses at Saint Joseph have stood together to be a strong pillar of the INA. Thanks to the nurses' ability to find power in numbers, their contracts contain guaranteed raises, a wage scale and staffing protections.

RC-23 is the bargaining unit for the Registered Nurses employed by the State of Illinois. These Registered Nurses work in mental health and developmental disability facilities, schools for the visually impaired and deaf correctional centers, and veterans administration homes. They also work in the Department of Public Health, Healthcare and Family Services, and the Department of Children and Family Services conducting surveys of healthcare facilities and traveling throughout the state to provide healthcare services to those in need.

RC-36 is the bargaining unit for Attorneys employed by the State of Illinois and working as Public Service Administrators in the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Office of the Inspector General.

In the winter of 2017, RNs and LPNs at Southern Illinois University Student Health Services voted together overwhelmingly in favor of becoming a Union. They care for the students, and all they want is a little respect in return.

INA nurses at Union Health Service provide care for union members at this clinic located in Chicago's near west side medical center district, and at UHS satellite clinics.

The Department of Public Health Registered nurses have been organized with the Illinois Nurses Association since the early 1960's, initially through a Memorandum of Understanding and eventually as a collective bargaining unit. They work throughout the City of Chicago, fighting epidemics, healing Chicago’s firefighters and police officers, caring for newborns, and more.
