Howard Brown Health Workers United

Tiffany Foster-Mitchell RMA, CPT, CET
Candidate Statement
Hi, I’m Tiffany Foster-Mitchell, and I am proud to be a healthcare worker, union leader, and advocate for my coworkers. I bring 16 years of experience in healthcare, including 13 years as a Medical Assistant. During my time at Howard Brown Health, I served for several years as the Lead Medical Assistant at our Thresholds location before being promoted to my current role as a Behavioral Health Care Coordinator and maintaining our Thresholds partnership. My years in healthcare have given me the opportunity to work alongside people from many different backgrounds, advocate for both patients and coworkers, and develop a true passion for leadership and service.
I joined the Illinois Nurses Association in 2024 and was proud to be involved in organizing Howard Brown for Health Workers United Local 312. I served on our bargaining committee, stepped up as an interim steward, and have now served as Chief Steward on our Executive Committee for a little over a year.
I’m honored to be a recipient of the Achievement in Local Leadership Award and the Horizon Award, as well as a nominee for the Honorary Recognition Award. I take pride in the trust my coworkers have placed in me to represent them, advocate for them, and help uphold our contract. That trust is something I do not take lightly, and it continues to motivate me to become a stronger and more knowledgeable leader.
Being involved with INA has allowed me to continue developing my leadership skills while learning more about what it truly means to advocate for workers. I’m excited to continue learning, growing, and soaking in as much knowledge as I can. I see myself continuing to excel not only within Howard Brown, but within INA as well. I plan to go as far as I possibly can in union leadership while continuing to advocate for our members and help strengthen our union.
It would truly be an honor to serve you on our Board of Directors a second term.
